How to use the score counter
This free score counter keeps the score for any table tennis match - singles or doubles - straight from your phone, tablet or laptop. Set the format first: choose best of 3, 5 or 7 games, whether games go to 11 (the modern standard) or to 21 (the legacy format), and which player serves first. Then tap the big +1 button each time a player wins a point. The counter handles the rest.
Service rotation is automatic: the serve passes every two points, and once a game reaches deuce (10-10, or 20-20 in the 21 format) it alternates on every point. The serve indicator shows who is serving and how many serves they have left, so there is no need to count in your head. As a game tightens, the tool flags game point and match point live, and reminds you to change ends between games and at the midpoint of a deciding game.
Made a mistake? Use Undo to step back a point, or the small -1 under each score to correct a single tap. The match auto-saves in your browser, so a refresh or an accidental tab close will not lose the score - pick up exactly where you left off. When the match finishes you get a full result summary with a one-tap copy result button for sharing or your records.
Live match stats build as you play: total points won by each player, their longest unbroken points streak, the biggest lead either player held, and the overall match duration - a quick picture of how the contest actually went. New to keeping score? The rules guide covers serving, faults and let calls in full, and the beginners guide is a good place to start.
Score counter FAQ
Does the score counter follow official table tennis rules?
Yes. Games are first to 11 (or 21 in the legacy setting) and must be won by two clear points, with service alternating every two points - and on every point once the score reaches deuce.
Will I lose my score if I refresh the page?
No. The match is saved automatically in your browser and resumes after a refresh, or if you close and reopen the tab. Use Reset Match to clear it and start fresh.
Can I use keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. Press 1 to add a point for Player 1, 2 for Player 2, U to undo the last point and R to reset the match - handy when scoring from a laptop at the table.
Does it work offline and is it free?
Both. Everything runs in your browser with no sign-up, no ads and no internet connection required once the page has loaded. It is completely free to use.
